On Feb 26th, twenty-eight students from Mr. Blackwelder's Japanese classes competed in the Japanese Culture and Academic Proficiency (JCAP) Quiz Bowl, against eight other high schools in the region and approximately 150 students. The falcons soared yet again, finishing second overall in the "Year 2" category with the team of April Amezquita, Deanna Nguyen, and James Hernandez, and 2nd overall in the "Year 3" category with the team of Gabriel Iglesia, Allen Tran, and Desiree Viola. All students also enjoyed hands-on seminars in Japanese caligraphy and Taiko drumming. Omedetou Gozaimasu!Saturday, March 5, 2011
