Cowboy Culture in the U.S. and Latin America

As a part of Spirit Week, students at SRHS on Tuesday 9/18/2013 dressed up in cowboy attire.  Profe Bañuelos used this to teach that cowboy culture in the U.S. was deeply influenced by the Mexican cowboys (vaqueros) starting in the in 1800s.  Profe also played Mexican música norteña, which is popular in vaquero regions of México.  Cowboys also exist in other countries in Latin America such as the llaneros in Colombia/Venezuela and the gauchos in Argentina/Uruguay/Paraguay.
