Kodomo no Hi in Japanese Classes
 Mr. Blackwelder's students learned about May 5th, Kodomo no Hi (Children's Day), 
on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The significance of carp streamers, the 
legend of Kintaro the Nature Boy, and a special food (Kashiwa Mochi - mochi 
wrapped in oak leaves symbolizing strength) were shared and discussed. The hope 
for strength in growing children and young adults, a central theme of Kodomo no 
Hi, couldn't have come at a better time. We are now in AP season!
