Mr. Blackwelder's Japanese 1-2 students are gearing up for the Doll Festival (hina matsuri, also known as "Girl's Day"), which takes place on March 3rd in Japan. Students will create a set of charaters/dolls, one male and one female, in honor of the occasion. The characteristics of each character- clothing, body parts, and personality- will also be shared in Japanese without the aid of a script. Recently, students were introduced to colors, parts of the body, and ways to manipulate adjectives in Japanese. Next week, we'll tackle clothing.
