Students in Spanish 3-4 with Profe Bañuelos this week while learning when to use
preterite and imperfect past tenses in the same sentence dove into a song Pobre
Juan by the great Mexican rock band Maná. The sad yet realistic story uses both
preterite and imperfect tenses in telling Pobre Juan's trek from his native town
to trying to cross into the U.S. Profe Bañuelos also discussed the push/pull
factors that lead to immigration from one country to another.
